2015 Pygmalion Petit Verdot
We source our Petit Verdot from a neat little vineyard in McLaren vale.
The Pygmalion is an intensely coloured wine with crimson to purple hues. It shows inky notes of plums, jam and blackcurrant berries. There is spiciness on the nose indicative of roasted pine nuts and mint. On the palate the wine carries dryness and a savoury, toasty, nutty character finishing with juicy ripe plum flavours as the finish dries out the mouth feel with soft, warm round tannins.
Pygmalion is a huge wine that is made for extended cellaring. It can be enjoyed now but will benefit from at least 10 years of careful cellaring.
Roast lamb or Roast Beef dishes are a wonderful accompaniment for this wine.
