2019 boar doe
piggs peake is known for a lot of things. big, fruit driven, heavily oaked reds tend to pop up in conversation when people talk about our winery. in the past we have made wines like the big pig cabernet, house of bricks cabernet and house of sticks cabernet/merlot. these are more australian in style as they boast big fruit, full body and higher alcohol.
the boar doe red is not one of these wines. cabernet sourced from young, hilltops, has produced a lighter, more elegant style which didn’t quite fit those bigger labels.
it is one of our newer releases that i find our staff most excited about. stylistically different to a bunch of our reds, as dare i say, it looks quite fre..
