we have access to a grenache vineyard down in mclaren vale, south australia that was planted in 1897. it’s a wonderful old vineyard that produces grenache grapes a bit smaller than what you normally see, resulting in a wine that’s deeper in colour with a bit more structure than the average grenache.
we have blended a bit of shiraz in to create mid palate then put in a pinch of viognier to soften the tannins and lift the aromatics.
this is an age worthy style of wine that will pair up to game dishes such as venison and duck.
