2022 Pigs Breath

pigs breath is a relatively new addition to the piggs peake range, but its rapidly found acceptance from our customers.
it’s made out of a portugese grape called touriga. touriga is one of the main grapes of the portugese port industry and here at piggs we do use it to make fortified red wines.
however, we stumbled across the idea of using it to make a drink young red and the results are quite wonderful.
touriga is naturally aromatic and has a fullness of palate. by removing the skins early, we can avoid tannin pick up and make something soft, fragrant and approachable from this grape that has a reputation for being a bit fearsome.
this one isn’t for cellaring but will be a great drink in its first 12 months of life with red meat dishes.
