2022 Sowvignon Blanc

this is an unusual style of sauvignon blanc to come across in australia.

instead of being made in stainless steel, this orange grown sauvignon blanc was fermented in french oak. barrel fermenting this wine and then ageing it on lees (lees are what we call dead yeast that have settled to the bottom of the vessel) has resulted in a less pungent style of sauvignon blanc with a rounder, less angular palate which can also reward cellaring.

it also lends the wine to being better with food in my opinion.

try it with something like a tassie scallop risotto.
