Description
The “black pig” is an unusual beastie.............. The summer of 2022 was quite cool and as a result as we started picking the hunter shirazs we started identifying batches as being of a certain style. The vineyard that went into the pig noir had grown a very soft, elegant expression of shiraz that reminded me of something. I decided to lean in to the style and blended some tempranillo and lagrein from orange into it and a little bit of white wine, namely viognier. The end result is a light bodied wine with a lifted, fragrant nose and a soft palate. Try it with something like a confit of duck in its youth.
