2023

From $38.00 per bottle

    Description

Year to year the grapes in this wine move around depending on the growing season. The 2023 is actually Roussanne dominant with some Marsanne mixed in. Neither one of these grapes is a household name in Australia and they often need some explanation.

Roussanne is a rusty looking grape on the vine. While it’s a white, the side of the bunch facing the sun can turn browny/red and go translucent. They often remind us of Christmas tree decorations. The wine is floral with pleasant acidity. Marsanne is more textural with characters that are neutral but enjoyable. It has very strong natural acidity. In a blend the two grapes seem to help each other out.

These wines age well. If you don’t drink it in the first year or two with something like a bbq king prawn then bring them out at 7-10 years with roast pork.
